STEVEN Tames scored a goal in each half as Bala maintained their momentum to register a solid 4-2 away win against Llandudno on Friday night.
Tames gave the Lakesiders an interval led, but Llandudno’s new signing Taylor-Fletcher volleyed an equaliser, before Tames made it 10 goals for the season with a well-taken volley.
Bala extended their lead when Henry Jones’ stunning left-footed shot flew into the top corner, and Chris Venables headed the Lakesiders’ fourth.
Llandudno kept battling and Taylor-Fletcher added his second on 89 minutes - but Bala boss Colin Caton could take heart from a satisfying win.“It was a really good performance at Llandudno, which is a difficult place to go,” said Caton. “What was pleasing was the positive way we reacted after they made it 1-1 when we switched off early in the second half.
“We’ve now scored seven goals in our last two matches, and we’re stringing together some good results.
“We feel we’re carrying a real threat now, something we did not have last season when we were starved of goals, and we had enough chances to have punished them more than we did.
“There’s still more to come from us, we’ve not hit our full potential, but to be joint third in the table with TNS shows just what we’re capable of.”
In horrendous conditions, Llandudno started well, with Toby Jones seeing an early chance saved by keeper Ashley Morris, before Gary Fletcher-Taylor blazed over at the back post.
Against the run of play, the Lakesiders took the lead on 22 minutes when Tames unleashed a curling strike into the bottom right corner on 21 minutes.
Bala stepped things up, but before the interval, keeper Morris was called into action to impressively push away John Owen’s volley from six yards.
Only six minutes into the second period, however, new signing Gary Taylor-Fletcher got on the end of a great chip from Williams to volley home.
Two minutes later, Tames’ volley rocketed into the net, and Bala soon added a third as Henry Jones’ stunning left-footed shot hit the top corner.
Bala’s midfield impressed, with Danny Gosset, Chris Venables and Horwood doing well, and allowing Tames and Jones to cause problems.
With 76 minutes on the clock, a fourth was scored for the Lakesiders when a Bala free-kick came to Venables whose header soared into the net.
Dudno weren’t finished, however, and in the 89th minute, Taylor-Fletcher added his second of the evening, but Bala’s three points were in the bag.
