Danny Calvert netted a late winner as Barmouth and Dyffryn United missed out on any reward from a lively Welsh Alliance division one clash with Greenfield.

Shane Jones had opened the scoring for the hosts on the half-hour, after a brilliant solo run from the middle, side-stepping one defender and then the keeper.

It took a couple of superb saves by Jamie Jones to keep the visitors at bay in the second half, but the anticipated equaliser came on the hour from Aden Roxburgh, and Calvert won it in the closing stages.

Penrhyndeudraeth were unable to halt title-chasers Bodedern Athletic as they notched a 3-0 win at their own ground.

Gareth Piercey’s team, unbeaten in four of their previous five matches, finally went into arrears on 50 minutes when Aiden Clarke achieved the breakthrough. The same player doubled the lead on the hour and the third goal on 68 from Casey Boylan made sure of the points.

League leaders Llandudno Albion meanwhile ran up the day’s biggest tally in a 6-2 romp against Llanrug United at their opponents’ Eithin Duon ground.

Albion’s scorers were Dave Maddox, with a brace after 27 and 32 minutes, Danny Evans on 55, Joel Lloyd on 67 and Peter Jones with a late brace on 80 and 82. Llanrug had to be content with one reply in each half, from a Dylan Owen penalty on 33, and Jonathan Sadler on 47.
