LLANILAR will take on holders Tregaron Turfs in the final of this season’s Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League Cup after both teams won through their semi-final ties.

Llanilar, who are already through to the final of the Len and Julia Newman Memorial Trophy, remained on track for silverware this season with a hard fought 2-0 win against Talybont.

In a closely-fought match, the result was in doubt until the very end, with hosts Llanilar taking the lead when Ryan Hopkins converted a penalty.

Talybont battled to the end, but the tie was secured in added-on time as Guto Roberts scored the second goal.

Meanwhile Tregaron Turfs, who are also through to the semi-finals of both the Newman Memorial Trophy and the Dai ‘Dynamo’ Davies Memorial Cup, booked their place in the final with a solid 4-0 win over Penparcau.

Rhun Garner, with a brace, Llyr Davies and William Williams sealed a solid victory over the Emrys Morgan Cup finalists, who were down to 10 men down to 10 men after 30 minutes when Liam Jacques was sent off.

The two sides will meet again in the semi-finals of the Len and Julia Newman Memorial Trophy this weekend.

Aberdyfi have signed off their league campaign in division two with a 3-1 defeat at Borth United Reserves.

Tim Holt netted for second-placed Dyfi, but goals from James Graham, from the penalty spot, Josh Ferreira and Jamie Walker sealed the points.Mike Rees scored four goals as Aberdyfi eased to a 7-1 win over Padarn United Reserves in the Second Division Trophy midweek.A brace from Richard Winchurch and Brandon Kent goal completed an emphatic win for the hosts.Last Friday evening, Josh Crowl and Dean Evans both scored twice as Bow Street Reserves beat Aberystwyth University Reserves 8-2, with Shaun Jones, Ian Evans, Osian Burrell and Richy Ricketts also on target. Hugo Laing and Emmanuel Enoidem replied.The Magpies followed that up with a 2-1 win over derby rivals Penrhyncoch Reserves, with Richy Ricketts and Jac Williams scoring the winning goals.Tregaron Turfs had won 11-2 at Machynlleth Reserves last Tuesday, with Rhun Garner and Dylan Davies both scoring hat-tricks. Llyr Davies, Arwel Jones, William Williams, Deian Williams and Ryan Hurrell also scored.Arwel Jones scored twice as the Turfs followed that up with a 6-1 win at local rivals Bont in midweek, with William Williams, Llyr Davies, Ifan Jones and Cerith Davies also scoring.
