LLANYSTUMDWY rediscovered winning ways in the Gwynedd League at Talysarn Celts’ expense by gaining a pleasing 4-2 result at Dwyfor Park - but only after coming from behind.

Thomas Meehan celebrated the hosts’ opening goal on 29 minutes, but before and after that Ian Pleming found the home net on 22 and 40 minutes to provide a 2-1 situation at half-time.

Manager Aled Jones’s side got their act together effectively after the resumption and swept to their victory with goals from Sion Parry on 57 and 60 minutes and Kieron Jones on 90-plus one.

Llanystumdwy moved up to fourth place from fifth in the rankings as reward, but remain 10 points off the pace, even though the league leaders, Bodedern Athletic, were not engaged.

Meanwhile Harlech Town, needing every point they can collect to escape the basement area, settled for a 1-1 draw with Waunfawr, after goals by Darren Parry on 10 minutes and the visitors’ Thomas Owen on 75.

Second-placed Bontnewydd were also held in a 1-1 deadlock by Bro Goronwy, with the goals being scored close together by Andrew Williams for the visitors on 75 minutes and Morgan Roberts for the hosts on 77.

Bottom side Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs Reserves suffered their eighth straight defeat in an 8-0 drubbing at Aberffraw, who benefited from a pair of hat-tricks.

Richard Roberts scored his treble on 35, 40 and 42, and Andrew Jones followed suit with goals on 10, 55 and 70. Nathan Moor and Connor Rees also joined the scoring.
