LLANYSTUMDWY held Gwynedd League leaders Menai Bridge Tigers to 1-1 in a tightly fought match at Dwyfor Park, and the result could have gone either way.

The Anglesey visitors had drawn first blood, with Owain Roberts’s goal on 13 minutes, but Llanystumdwy restored parity, to gain a deserved share of the points, through Ceiron Jones on 79. Harlech Town slumped to a 5-2 defeat at lowly Beaumaris, despite goals from Emlyn Jennings on 55 minutes and Darren Parry on 76.

The visitors were always chasing the action after being 3-0 down at half time. Goals from Dean Redmond on 11 minutes, Danny Camilleri on 12, brother Chris on 33 and 70 and Dave Roberts on 91 sealed the win. Bontnewydd and Bangor University drew 1-1, to give the students their first point.

The goals were netted by Bangor’s captain Joe Wayman on 31 minutes and Jack Lenham-Smith on 34, with Bontnewydd’s replies from Rhys Roberts on 66 and then Iwan Jones in added time.
