LLANYSTUMDWY acquired local bragging rights in the Gwynedd League by beating Harlech Town 5-3 in a very entertaining derby encounter at Dwyfor Park.
The hosts snapped up an early advantage and never looked back, after Sion Parry’s strike with four minutes played.
Parry proceeded to complete his hat-trick, finding the target on 65 and 72 minutes, and other goals also came from Morgan Griffith on 19 minutes and Carwyn Roberts three minutes from the end.
Harlech, who were level at 2-2 at the break, gained their goals from Darren Parry on 10 minutes and Jamie Jones on 42, followed by Mark Holloway on 89.
Beaumaris continued their much improved ways by registering win number six in 11 outings with a 3-1 score against Bethesda Athletic, who continue to flounder next-to-bottom with just two points.
Bethesda netted first at Bangor City’s 3G pitch, through Ashley Parry on 12 minutes, before Beaumaris’ take-over saw Dean Redmond finding the target on 22 and 46 and then Nathan Roberts on 88.
NORTH WALES COAST JUNIOR CUP
NEFYN United breezed through to the last 16 North Wales Coast Junior Cup with a 10-0 rout of Anglesey League hosts Bodorgan.
Llion Bryn Jones led the way with a hat-trick, whilst Gwion Roberts landed a brace, and Iwan Roberts, Ifan Jones, Rhys Williams, Dylan Sion Jones and Gethin Trenholme also hit the net.
Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs Reserves were on the wrong end of a 10-1 result at Abergele Town, where the hosts’ Brian Fortune collected four goals and Chris Davies had two, with four others also on target with singles.
Gwynedd League leaders Bodedern Athletic slipped to a shock 3-2 defeat at home to island rivals Bro Goronwy.
Andy Williams scored on 14 minutes and Jack Thomas netted on 58 and 70 minutes.
Matthew Jones replied on 26 and Jordan Taylor on 85.
Anglesey League side Llangoed caused a very big surprise when dumping out Gwynedd League high-flyers Bontnewydd by 5-2.
Craig Jones, scored twice, along with further goals by Carwyn Williams, Mitchell Jones and Wayne Thomas.
Talysarn Celts lost out at Llandudno Athletic 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out, after the teams were deadlocked at 2-2, with extra-time played.
Waunfawr advanced 2-1 at Y Glannau, with Shaun Roberts and Jac Evans scoring for the away side, and Adam Randell netting for the hosts.
Gareth Barker, Dale Owens, Ryan Wood, Tom Parry and Dion Williams grabbed a goal apiece as Menai Bridge Tigers dismissed Old Colwyn 5-3. Jake Parkes (2) and Will Carlisle hit the bet for the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier team.
Rhyl Town hammered Machno United 5-0, with Lewis Parry Jones, Josh Jones, Kieran Reynolds, Tom Skidmore and Antonio Jacovelli sharing the goals.
Elsewhere Chris Smyth’s goal was enough to see Llanfairfechan Town through for a 1-0 win over Bro Cernyw.
Gwion Jones, Sam Benbow and Gareth Jones sealed Llannefydd a 3-1 success away at Holyhead Town, with Jon Woolgar replying.
Cerrigydrudion needed a penalty shoot-out to get past Llysfaen, after a 4-4 draw.
James Parker (3) and Jack Roper netted for Llysfaen, with Cerrig hitting back via Tomos Jones (2), Kieran Jones and Andrew Hession.
Geraint Jones and Dave Clayton earned Llansannan a 2-0 scoreline at Valley.
