BOW Street Reserves marched on to the quarter-finals of the Emrys Morgan Cup with a 3-1 win over Montgomeryshire League outfit Llanrhaeadr Reserves.
Fielding a mixture of experienced players and numerous youngsters, the Magpies produced an impressive all round performance to claim a convincing win.
Neil Davies took the lead with a header, from a sublime cross by Shaun Jones, but Lucas Gallagher equalised 10 minutes later following a defensive mix up by the hosts.
The excellent Shaun Jones headed the home side back into the lead just before half-time, and the Magpies then stepped up their pressure in the second period.
The Llanrhaeadr goalkeeper made a couple of good saves, but the killer third goal came 15 minutes from the end when Lee Crumpler headed in from a corner.
Penparcau will also fly the flag for the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League into the last eight of the competition after they notched a 3-1 win over Padarn United.
A brace from Mattie Davies and an Andrew Gittins goal ultimately sealed their win against a hard-working Padarn outfit.
Talybont were edged out 5-4 at home to Montgomeryshire League side Trefonen in an entertaining third round encounter.
Talybont had made the best possible start when Clint Middleton scored in the opening minute, but Graham Dyke then equalised, before for the home team then went 2-1 ahead through Osian Thomas.
Trefonen however took a grip on the game to lead 4-2 at the interval, and they increased their lead to 5-2 midway through the second half courtesy of goals from Dyke, Andy Garmston, who also completed a brace and Louis Morris.
Talybont reduced their deficit to 5-4 through Jamie Evans to set up a tense finish, but the visitors held firm at the end.
Tregaron Turfs bowed out with a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Lampeter, who scored two early goals through Jason Jones, before the hosts managed to get a goal back before the interval through Ifan Jones.
The second half was one-way traffic but the Turfs couldn’t find the back of the net as goalkeeper Paul Simmonds produced a string of saves to send Lampeter though.
St Dogmaels will also represent the Costcutter Ceredigion League in the last eight after they eased to a 3-0 win at Llanymynech of the Montgomeryshire League.
The visitors had led by a solitary goal at the interval from striker Louis Harding, after a classy build-up down the right and an accurate cross from Jack Thomas.
Harding doubled the lead early in the second half and Adam Williams headed home from a Rhys Jones delivery to make absolutely certain of his side’s passage.
Crannog beat Llanboidy 6-1 at Cae Dandre, having led by four clear goals at the break from Rhys Davies, Gary Davies, who netted a brace, and George Colven.
Marc Davies increased their lead after the interval and a Mike Glover header was deflected into his own goal by a Llanboidy defender to complete their scoring, with Emyr Lewis replying for the home side.
Bishops Castle are also through to the last eight after goals from Mark Griffiths, Sam Naden and George Mellor sealed a 3-1 win at Llanfyllin. Harry Lloyd replied.
