BOW Street Reserves moved three points clear at the top of the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth District League division one with an emphatic 9-0 home victory over Machynlleth Reserves.
Street had to make a late change to their starting line-up, as keeper Rhys Evans had to withdraw due to injury, and Ian Evans replaced him between the sticks.
They started brightly, creating a few half chances in the first 25 minutes, before Stephen Harrison rose highest to plant his header past the keeper for the first goal.
The lead was soon doubled as Ifan Burrell scored on his return to the club, and before the interval a Joe Williams penalty then made it 3-0, after Burrell was upended inside the area.
The game was over within five minutes of the re-start as Osian Rees-Jones, Shaun Jones and Nick Smith scored three quick goals.
The hosts dominated the remainder of the game, and Rees-Jones, Jones and Smith got their second goals of the game as Bow Street ran out very comfortable winners.
Elsewhere, Aberdyfi eased to an emphatic 7-1 home win against Llanon in the Second Division Trophy.
Will Kendall scored a hat-trick, with goals by Luke Fox, Sean Fox, Richard Winchurch and Tom Harvey.
Emrys Morgan Cup Quarter-Finals
NEWCASTLE Emlyn marched on into the semi-finals of the Emrys Morgan Cup, but they needed extra-time to beat fellow Costcutter Ceredigion League outfit Ffostrasol 3-1 in extra time.
The Reds spurned a number of early chances, with Adrian Hazelby seeing a shot from close range brush the bar, but after the break it was the visitors who took the lead when Sam Skinner got caught in possession and Owain Patterson went through to finish off well.
Emlyn player-boss Owain Thomas switched a few players around and the equaliser duly arrived when Sam Skinner turned sharply in the box and drilled home into the corner of the net.
There were chances at both ends, but it was still all square after 90 minutes.
Nial Millband headed the Reds into the lead in extra-time when he pounced after a corner was initially cleared, but chipped back in for him to nod home.
The win was made safe as Jake Kelly found himself in space on the edge of the box to put a low cross in for Ashley Summers to score at the back post.
• Lampeter also had to work hard to beat neighbours Felinfach 2-1 for a place in the last four, with a late goal by Mark Evans seeing them through.
The Costcutter League leaders saw their early dominance pay off on 20 minutes when Jason Jones went on a solo run and finished off with aplomb.
Felinfach, however, hit back when Joe Jenkins netted a well-taken equaliser to set up an intriguing second half at 1-1.
With the pitch cutting up badly, Lampeter manager Terry Jones brought on fresh legs, and with striker Luke Lovell holding the ball up well, they started playing much higher up the pitch.
The deadlock was finally broken when midfielder Marc Evans was on hand to head in a cross with just 10 minutes remaining for their winner.
Just a few minutes later, however, Felinfach were awarded a penalty, but Town keeper Dylan Evans saved the spot kick from Lee Forrester and Lampeter managed to hang on for the win.
Costcutter Ceredigion League
ST DOGMAELS moved to within seven points of Costcutter Ceredigion League leaders Lampeter, with a 4-1 success over Dewi Stars at Llanddewi Brefi - and they still have a game in hand.
Louis Harding latched onto a through ball from Rhys Jones to score the first goal, and five minutes later a Jones corner found the head of Adam Williams at the near post to double the lead.
At the other end Stars’ William Williams beat custodian Carl Woodhouse but his looping header came back off the bar, and Andrew Jones misplaced his header from only two yards out.
At the start of the second half, Andrew Jones and William Williams were foiled by Woodhouse, but Stars halved the deficit when a fine low drive by Carwyn Richards found the bottom corner.
The Saints were reduced to 10 men when Adam Williams was sent off for an alleged head-butting incident, but they regained their two goal lead when Peter Almond ran through to score - and then Louis Harding got his second goal from close range to seal the win.
• Llandysul’s Dean Jones scored a hat-trick as Llandysul won 4-1 at Crannog, with teenager Scott Jones also scoring, whilst Aberaeron Reserves beat Cardigan 3-1 with goals by Jack Chetwynd, Dafydd Roberts and Lee Perkins.
