BOW Street failed to build on their opening day win in the MMP Mid Wales League division one against Caersws as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Tywyn/Bryncrug on Wednesday.
First half goals from Aston Heath and Tom Allen-Davies put the Meirionnydd men two goals up at the interval, before Lee Crumpler netted the reply.
Llanidloes Town meanwhile notched their second win of the new season, with Connor Bird netting a brace in their 5-0 home win over Aberaeron.
Dafydd Carruthers opened the scoring with a powerful header, before Bird netted with a superb run and cool finish - and he then doubled his tally when he tapped home his second goal at the far post.
An excellent move up the right saw Niall Coleridge link well with Joshua Hartrick for Ashley Owen to make it 4-0 at the break, and on 49 minutes Drew Reynolds headed in from Ed Clarke’s corner for their fifth goal.
Berriew notched their first points as goals from Joe Haycock, a Craig Pearce penalty, Steffan Rogers and Charlie Humphreys earned a 4-2 win over at 10-man Carno, who had Joseph Bell sent off before the interval. Josh Matthews and Geraint Jones replied.
Caersws got off the mark with a 4-0 win at Llansantffraid, courtesy of a Jamie Hyne brace, and goals by Mark Edmondson and Elliot Jones, whilst Builth Wells notched a 2-0 win at Hay St Marys, with goals from Jack Hammond and a Tom Bethell free-kick.
Kieran McCarley netted the only goal as Llandrindod Wells beat Welshpool 1-0, while captain Kyle Wilson struck a late winner in Four Crosses’ 1-0 home victory over Kerry, and goals from Tom Evans and Jack Williams sealed a 2-0 win at Radnor Valley.
• PENPARCAU notched their first points of the season in the MMP Mid Wales League division two as they celebrated a solid 5-2 midweek win at home against a battling Machynlleth.
Eager to get points on the board after their opening match at Dolgellau was abandoned, goals from Liam Jaques, Mattie Davies and Dion Davies saw last season’s Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League champions race into a 3-0 lead after half an hour.
Neil Evans made it 4-0 with a back post header, and Jaques sealed the three points with a wonder strike.
Mach had been reduced to 10 men fora late challenge on Harry Turner, but they hit replies through Harry Vince-Holt, who made it four goals in the first two games, and Ben Davies.
Borth United made it two wins from two matches with a 1-0 win over Dolgellau at Uppingham Fields - with Josh Ferriera nodding on a free kick for Dion Ellis Clarke to score the winner from close range.Tom Ellis scored four goals as Waterloo Rovers also notched a second win with an emphatic 8-1 triumph at Presteigne, with Ryan Ellis, Oli Davies, Scott Holley and Luke Evans also scoring.
Newbridge got off the mark with a 3-0 home win over Rhayader Town, with a brace from Ollie Woods and a Jake Bufton goal securing the points in a strong second half performance.
Kelvin Sargeant scored twice as Churchstoke beat Knighton Town 5-2, with Shane Morgan, Aidan Oakley and an own goal completing the scoring for the border club.
Dyffryn Banw maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 win at Abermule, with Alwyn Jones and Harrison Higgins on target, whilst Lyndon Clayton replied for the hosts.
