NEFYN United keeper Ian Aikman scored a spectacular 60-yarder, but it was not enough to stave off defeat in the Coast Intermediate Cup as visitors Bodedern Athletic came away with a 2-1 win.

Against the run of play Bodedern’s Casey Boylan snatched the lead on 21 minutes, and eight minutes later Barry Jones doubled the lead with a 20-yard free-kick.

Last season’s 16-goal top scorer, Ifan Jones, had chances for Nefyn, before Aikman scored a free kick on 65 minutes, from within his half. In the same competition, Talysarn Celts won 4-3 at Machno United, thanks to Jac Jones’ hat-trick, including a penalty and a last-gasp winner by Rhys Davies.

Trailing 3-0 on 50 minutes, Machno levelled the scores with goals from Owen Davies, Jamie Williams and S Williams - before Davies struck a last minute winner.

Aberffraw meanwhile beat Llannefydd 1-0, with the lone goal scored by Matthew Reynolds on 65 minutes.
