MANAGER Sion Eifion says he is pleased to have brought ex-Porthmadog striker John Owen back to the Traeth, on loan from Cymru Premier club Cefn Druids.

During his time with Porthmadog from 2012 to 2014 he played 28 games, and netted 10 goals, before moving on to Llandudno and Aberystwyth Town.

“This is a transfer that we’ve worked hard on the past couple of weeks, and we’re all delighted that we’ve now got it over the line,” said the Porthmadog manager.

“John is a proven player at the top level of Welsh football and he’ll no doubt add to our already talented forward line.

“It’s been a difficult start to the season for us, and John will give that much-needed boost to the squad and the supporters going in to the Flint game on Saturday.”

Sion Eifion has also moved to strengthen his squad with the signing of Telor Williams, who switched from Caernarfon to Llandudno last season and made 10 Welsh Premier League appearances.

The young left-sided player has had trials with Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday and Salford City, and has also represented Welsh Colleges and the Wales Academy team at Under 18s level.

“Telor has been with us all pre-season and we’re all delighted that he’s now signed on with us at the club,” revealed the Porthmadog boss.

“He’s had some great experiences during the pre-season at professional clubs, but he’s now ready to get his head down and work for a starting position in our team.

“He’s a natural left-sided player, which will add some much-needed balance to our team. We will look forward to watching him grow and develop further with us.”

Meanwhile defender Carwyn Jones, who joined Port from Aberystwyth, has decided to re-join his former club Barmouth and Dyffryn United. He had spent most of last season at Penrhyncoch.

BALA Town have added another two more players to their ranks at Maes Tegid.

Thomas Stephens, who is a strong and confident central defender, and also the younger brother of current Lakesider Anthony Stephens, has signed forms.

The 21 year-old has had spells at Skelmersdale and Congleton Town, where he made 34 appearances, before joining the Lakesiders during pre-season, where he impressed the management.

Also putting pen to paper is Sion Sullivan, who is promoted from the Academy.

He was named as the Manager’s Player of the Year in the Under 16s age group last season and has been training with the first team squad.

From Dolwyddelan, he has been in the Bala Academy for many years, as well as playing for Blaenau Amateurs.
