PENPARCAU are through to the second round of the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League Cup after they beat Bow Street Reserves 2-0 on a very heavy pitch at Cae Piod.

Mike Gornall and Ben Holt found the back of the net for the visitors to secure a hard earned victory for the division one leaders over the Magpies.

Rhun Garner and Llyr Davies both scored hat-tricks as Tregaron were convincing 6-2 winners over Dolgellau Reserves in their second round tie.

Owain Williams and Jasper Jones netted for the Meirionnydd men, but the dominant home side deservedly booked their place in the last four.

Llanilar are through to the third round of the competition after they registered a convincing 7-2 home win over division one rivals Pararn United.

Guto Roberts scored twice, along with singles from Ryan Edwards, Sion Evans, Dan John, Ryan Hopkins and Paul Bonner as Llanilar marched on. Paul James scored twice for Padarn.

The League Cup match between Bont and Talybont was postponed due to a snow covered frozen pitch, along with the scheduled division one match between Penrhyncoch Reserves and Aberystwyth University Reserves.

Aberdyfi meanwhile made a perfect start to their Second Division Trophy campaign as they recorded an emphatic 8-1 win over visitors Llanon.

Mike Rees led the way with four goals, and a brace from both Richard Winchurch and Brandon Kent sealed a convincing win for the home outfit.

Chris Wylde scored a hat-trick as Penrhyncoch Thirds saw off visitors Llanilar Reserves 4-0, with Jay Surgery also finding the net for the Roosters.

Meanwhile the draw for the fourth round of the Emrys Morgan Cup has been made, with Penparcau being handed home advantage against Montgomeryshire League side Guilsfield Reserves, whilst Bow Street Reserves will travel to face Costcutter Ceredigion League club Lampeter.
