PENRHYNDEUDRAETH exacted revenge for a 6-2 derby defeat at Pwllheli in early October by imposing an emphatic 4-1 result in their home return in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance.Andrew Jones' team were quick off the mark at their Maes-y-Parc base, thanks to Meilir Williams, who took only two minutes to open the hosts’ account, before goals from Alun Hughes and a second from Williams put Penrhyn in control.Pwllheli, who were battling to stave off a fourth consecutive defeat, were boosted early in the second half, when Mark Jones tucked away a penalty, but Penrhyn had the final say when Carwyn Price provided an extra goal on 89 minutes.Barmouth and Dyffryn United’s positive run came to an unceremonious end in a bruising 7-1 defeat away against high-riding Llangefni Town.

Keeper Adam Walters had to retrieve the ball from his net after only four minutes following Corey Sinnott’s effort, then Steve Kehoe struck on 20, followed by a rapid hat-trick from Craig Roberts on 22, 23 and 27.

As part of Barmouth’s problems, their usual central defensive duo of Elwyn Edwards and Joe Jones were both missing, although Carwyn Jones once again impressed in midfield.

Llangefni’s Craig Roberts added another goal on 49 minutes, before the visitors’ Paul Lewis clawed one back on 51 minutes, ahead of Roberts’s fifth strike for the rampant home side.

Barmouth’s Walters, who has been carrying an ankle injury for several weeks, withdrew around the hour, to be replaced by manager Llyr Hughes.

Leaders Glantraeth continued their impressive form by winning 8-0 against lowly-placed Llanrwst United at their own Gwydyr Park ground.

Regular marksman Corrig McGonigle was the inspiration once again, scoring four goals, timed at 31 minutes, from a penalty, 54, 83 and 90.

Glantraeth also benefited from a brace by Andy Barker on 42 and 85 minutes and single goals from Kieron Jeffries on 53 and Sion Hogan on 88.

Reigning champions Trearddur Bay United regained second place with a hard earned 3-2 result at Llandudno Junction, where they struck through Craig Morris on 43 minutes, Jordan Murphy on 54, from the penalty spot and Ryan Jones on 82 minutes.

Junction had scored first and last, through Thomas Williams on 21 minutes and then Brian Roberts on 83.

Glan Conwy and Llanberis drew 1-1, with Allan Hughes scoring for the visitors on 21 minutes and Dominic Stringer for the hosts on 80.

The Nantlle Vale versus Abergele Town match was postponed, because the Abergele mini-bus broke down en route to the Penygroes ground.

Llanrug United secured passage to the Alliance’s Cookson Cup semi-final, and will entertain the trophy holders Glantraeth, after outplaying St Asaph City 5-0 on their ground.

An own-goal on 21 minutes set them on the way and other netted efforts were by Allan Owen on 31 minutes, David Noel Williams on 44, Gavin Jones on 49 and Jonathan Sadler 72.

In the Mawddach Cup, Llandyrnog beat Greenfield 2-1, thanks to Ryan Harden netting on two minutes and Mike Roberts on 78, and the Cae Nant side will host Llanberis next time.
