PENRHYNCOCH boss Gari Lewis insists he won’t be treating Llandudno Junction lightly when his side make Saturday’s trip to take on the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance’s basement side.

After their home fixture with Queens Park was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, the Roosters will be raring to get back to the pitch in their efforts to climb clear of the relegation zone.

Junction have picked up just one point from 12 outings, but Lewis warned his side cannot afford any complacency if they are to return with the three points.

“I know they are bottom of the league, but they are good side, far better than their position suggests,” Lewis said.

“They drew at Guilsfield this season, which is no mean feat, and have also beaten some good sides in the Welsh Cup, and have some good players.

“Make no bones about it, this is going to be a tough game for us on their ground. We’re going to have to play to our max, with good fitness and energy levels, if we’re going to get anything.

“In this league, any team can beat anybody, you cannot afford an off-day.”

The lack of action last weekend allowed forwards Steff Davies and Jonathan Evans more time to recover from groin injuries, while another front runner Nashawn Blake also steps back.

Lewis admitted the club were left with little choice but to call off last Saturday’s game against Queens Park after persistent rain overnight and through the day.

“They wanted to know by 10.30am to avoid travelling, and it was the right decision for both clubs,” Lewis said.

The decision to call off the game saved the pitch from being badly damaged.Meanwhile Penrhyncoch's JD Welsh Cup Third Round tie at Park Hall against The New Saints is has been switched to Friday, 1 December, with a 7.45pm kick-off.The game was originally scheduled for the following day.
