PENRHYNDEUDRAETH shrugged off an early goal by Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one visitors St Asaph City as they emerged as solid 3-1 winners.

St Asaph had stunned the Maes-y-Parc faithful when they grabbed the lead on 10 minutes through David Evans, but Gareth Piercey’s side netted a timely equaliser through Richard Jones on 20 minutes.

Tom Smith then scored on 58 minutes and Jack Jones sealed the points on 68 for Penrhyn’s third successive league win.

Barmouth and Dyffryn United returned from Mynydd Llandygai with a point after a 38th minute goal by Gethin Evans, from Ben Fisher’s cross, was cancelled out by Craig Whelan after 70 minutes.

Barmouth were reduced to 10 men with the red card dismissal of Nathan Porter for dissent on 50 minutes, but they held on for a hard earned share of the spoils.

Llangefni Town, who had been joint top with Nantlle Vale on goal difference, went clear with a 4-2 win over Greenfield.

The visitors went ahead through Danny Calvert’s 50th minute penalty, but Llangefni hit back through Matthew Jones on 70, before another Calvert spot kick restored the lead for Greenfield four minutes later.

Jack Williams netted a second equaliser on 79 minutes, however, and Llangefni sealed the win through Iwan Jones on 83 and Kevin Lloyd, from the spot, on 89.

Nantlle Vale meanwhile dropped points in a 1-1 draw at Llandyrnog, after rival goals from Ryan Harden on 42 minutes and the visitors’ Aaron Griffiths on 83.

Llandudno Albion won 1-0 at Bodedern Athletic, where Dave Maddox scored the only goal of the game on 72 minutes.

Prestatyn Sports beat Llanrug United 2-1, with Shane Middleman scoring on 42 minutes and Ben Crawley on 70, after Aaron Hughes had scored first on 34.

• PWLLHELI player-manager Ben Ogilvey came off the subs’ bench late on to converted a crucial 89th minute penalty in his side’s 5-4 win over hosts Gaerwen in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Two.

Pwllheli had dominated the opening half to go 4-0 up through goals from Carl Jones on 11 minutes, Jack Jones on 22, Tomos Jones on 39 and Carl Jones on 41.

Gaerwen, however, hit back through Connor Gordon on 51 and 63 minutes, Chris Bennett on 65 and Joe Lawson on 74, before Pwllheli had the final say.

Meanwhile Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs’ fine start to the season, which had yielded five successive league wins, ended with a 4-0 defeat away at Llannefydd.

Tomos Davies opened the scoring on 20 minutes and within minutes of the second half Ed Jones scored with a deflected free kick. Amateurs’ substitute Rhodri Pugh was sent off minutes after coming on the field on the hour, and the home side made the most of their one player advantage by adding two late goals through Tomos Davies and Ynyr Clwyd.

High-flying Llannerchymedd also lost 6-3 at Aberffraw, where doubles from Nathan Moore and Richard Roberts, and singles by Connor Reece and Gary Boulton sealed victory. Chris Byast and Rob Jones, with a brace, netted the replies.

Nyal Hughes and Anthony Jones earned Kinmel Bay a 2-1 win over Amlwch, Meliden beat Holyhead Town 6-2 and Pentraeth drew 1-1 with Glan Conwy.
