PENRHYNDEUDRAETH had to settle for a point as they were pegged back to a 1-1 draw with hosts Llandyrnog United in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one last weekend.

Penrhyn had hoped for better when Alun Hughes made the breakthrough on 76 minutes, but Daniel Roberts salvaged a point a minute from the end.

In midweek, Penrhyn had lost 3-2 at home to Llanberis, with Richard McDonald scoring a quick-fire double on 42 and 44 minutes and Aaron Pritchard on 60 to seal the points. Alun Hughes had netted on 35 for Penrhyn and Richard Jones scored late on 90.

Barmouth and Dyffryn United left empty-handed from promoted Bodedern Athletic, following a 3-0 defeat.

Stephen Whittaker broke the deadlock on 60 minutes, but Barmouth were still in contention until the closing 10 minutes when Aden Clarke netted, and an own-goal was gifted by Jonno Harrison in the closing minutes.

In midweek Barmouth had lost 4-1 at home to Nantlle Vale, with Aaron Davies scoring a hat-trick on 46, 84 and 91, and Daniel Evans on 62. Joe Ephrain replied on 72 minutes.

Llangefni Town registered a solid 5-0 away win against Llandudno Albion, having been three goals clear before the interval, thanks to Allan Mark Jones netting on four minutes, Liam Morris on 23 and Kia Powell on 36.

Second-best Llandudno were dealt further punishment from Matthew Jones on 76 and Cameron Jones on 90.

Llanberis won 2-1 at Llandudno Junction, with the match winner celebrated by Dave Jones on 90 minutes, after penalties from Llanberis’ Gethin Wakeham on 20 and the hosts’ Matthew Jones responding likewise on 35.

Prestatyn Sports, last season’s division two champions, beat Mynydd Llandygai 5-0, thanks mainly to four goals by Ian Griffiths on 28, 33, 35 and 57 minutes and Darren Cassidy on 60.

Llanrug United were good value for a 4-0 home win over Llanrwst United, with goals from James Phillips on 23 minutes, brother Luke on 80 and then Aaron Hughes twice right at the end.

It was also a 4-0 win for Nantlle Vale at home to St Asaph City, as the score-sheet entries came from Daniel Evans on 25 minutes, Aaron Thomas on 30 and 65 and Gavin Edwards on 78.

Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two

TOM Hughes fired a hat-trick as Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs registered an emphatic 8-2 home win over Aberffraw in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division two last weekend.

Bryn Humphreys and Kieron Ellis also netted two apiece and Sion Aron Roberts added a single as the Amateurs emerged as convincing winners.

In gloomy conditions, they dominated from the kick-off and visiting keeper Gavin Roberts was called upon to make a good save from Tom Hughes.

Hughes opened the scoring on 12 minutes, but soon after the visitors were level as skipper Steve Jenkins fired a free kick into the roof of the net.

The home side kept pressing and on 26 minutes they went ahead again when a good period of passing involving Kieron Ellis and Joe Dukes ended in Bryn Humphreys finding the net.

Four minutes later they increased their lead through Tom Hughes, and just before the break Sion Roberts prodded home another goal, after Tom Hughes’ spot kick had been saved.

Things didn’t get better for the visitors as on 47 minutes Bryn Humphreys made it 5-1, and within minutes Tom Hughes completed his fine hat-trick.

Richard Roberts bagged a consolation for Aberffraw, but Kieron Ellis added goals on 61 and 82 minutes.

Y Felinheli went top on goal difference with a 4-1 win at Meliden, with Iwan Owen and Gruff John scoring doubles. Jordan Eastwood replied.

Glan Conwy needed a 90th minute equaliser from Shaheen Ahmed to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Holyhead Town, who led through Joe Donovan.

Rob Jones notched the winner for Llannerchymedd in a 1-0 success at Penmaenmawr Phoenix, whilst Lewys Jones, Ed Jones and Gruff Evans sealed Llannefydd’s 3-1 win at Pentraeth, with Iwan Williams replying.

Kinmel Bay took the honours in a 3-2 win at Gaerwen, with Anthony Jones, Ryan Hulse and Jordan Worthington netting for the visitors, and Arwel Williams and Peter Jones responding.
