PENRHYNDEUDRAETH completed a home-and-away double over Bodedern Athletic in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one with a solid 2-0 on the road.
Crucial goals late in each half, from Bryn Humphreys five minutes before the interval, and the clincher by Tom Hughes four minutes from the end, settled the outcome at Bodedern’s Cae Ty Cristion.
Nantlle Vale meanwhile beat basement strugglers Prestatyn Sports 4-1, courtesy of a hat-trick by Rhys Williams, with goals on 30, 48 and 87 minutes, with Gethin Thomas also scoring on 43. Mike Jones replied from the penalty spot on 83.
Pwllheli were left to kick their heels for a third successive Saturday, when their planned division two visit to Pentraeth was postponed, because the Anglesey club’s Panton ground was waterlogged.
Meanwhile Pwllheli Reserves made the most of their opportunity to play in the Welsh Alliance Reserves Division as they notched a 7-3 home win over Kinmel Bay. Iwan Roberts led the way with a hat-trick, Rhys Williams netted twice, and Owain Paramore and Jason Banks scored.

BARMOUTH and Dyffryn United are obliged by rule to concede ground advantage to familiar foes Llandudno Junction in the Barritt Mawddach Cup’s second round this coming Saturday, after two attempts to play at Wern Mynach were postponed.The pitch was waterlogged again, much to the frustration of manager Iolo Owen and his squad, who will now have to attend at Junction’s Crossing ground for the third time this season.A league fixture on 17 August ended in a goal-less draw, but Barmouth prospered in the FAW Trophy third round on 26 October with a 4-0 result, followed by another win at home in the league on 11 January by 3-1.Cup holders Llanrwst United were dealt a knockout blow by visitors Holyhead Hotspur by a 3-1 score in an absorbing tie at their own Gwydyr Park base.Holyhead, the division one leaders and title favourites, dominated with goals from Kenleigh Owen on 15 and 83 minutes and Alex Jones on 47, as against the home team’s solitary reply from Leon Doran on 53 minutes.Denbigh pulled off a late win at Gaerwen, winning 1-0 with a goal from Mark Roberts from a penalty on 101 minutes in extra-time, while Kinmel Bay also made it 1-0 at Llanberis, where Matthew Griffiths netted after 64.Greenfield were the day’s big winners, running up a 5-1 tally at Mynydd Llandygai, where the marksmen were Sam Jones on 22 minutes, Sion McHugh on 24, Danny Henley on 33, Dean Hyland on 61 and Henley again on 90, with the hosts’ Iwan Morris replying on 54.Aberffraw won 3-2 at Llannefydd, thanks to Gary Bolton on 38 minutes, Nathan Moore on 44 from a penalty and Mattie Reynolds on 69, as against the home team’s Luke Appleby scoring first and last on seven and 90.Gwalchmai remarkably were the day’s only home winners in the cup, beating Llanrug 2-0 because of netted efforts by Mark Evans on 19 minutes from a penalty and Gary Allman on 57.The Barritt Mawddach Cup third round draw is: Barmouth and Dyffryn United or Llandudno Junction v Denbigh Town, Bodedern Athletic or Glan Conwy v Kinmel Bay, Greenfield v Gwalchmai, Holyhead Hotspur v Aberffraw. Cemaes clinched it with a very late winner, with Ryan Folksman and Andy Williams scoring. Connor Rees also scored a 90th minute decider for Bodorgan as they notched a 1-0 win over Pentraeth Reserves.In the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League, Bro Cernyw shone in the Premier Division with a solid 4-1 win over Llanfairfechan Town, with goals from Robin Hughes, with a brace, Ianto Roberts and Ioan Williams. Jacob Frazer netted for the visitors.
