The Football Association of Wales have confirmed Penrhyncoch have been removed from this season’s Nathaniel MG Cup.
The JD Cymru North club have accepted the decision of the FAW and also appreciate that no fine will be given, nor will any further action against the club be taken following the decision to postpone the cup tie last month against Goytre United due to safety concerns as regards the Covid-19 pandemic.
Penrhyncoch have wished Goytre United good luck in the next round but will not comment any further on this matter.
Following the postponement of the game which was scheduled for 12 December a club spokesman said: “Due to concerns as regards the Covid-19 pandemic our players, coaches and staff’s health, safety and wellbeing must come first so after due consideration it has been decided that we will not be fulfilling the fixture.
“We as a club are fully aware of the possible consequences that this may mean as regards our participation in the competition but we have a duty of care to our players, coaches and staff as well as our wider community of Penrhyncoch itself.
“We have been in contact with Goytre United FC and very much appreciate their understanding.”
