A 94th minute winner from Steff Gittins sealed a stunning 3-2 victory for Penrhyncoch over JD Cymru North leaders Prestatyn Town at Cae Baker.
Ifan Burrell and Steff Davies also netted to ensure the two sides were on level terms going into the final stages of the match, before Gittins snatched the points.
Their seventh league win of the season sees Gari Lewis’ side sitting comfortably in eighth spot, five points behind third-placed Rhyl, with two games in hand.
They will be looking to maintain momentum this weekend at home to mid Wales rivals Llanrhaeadr, who are level on points with Penrhyn in sixth position.
The league leaders had started brightly at Cae Baker, with Robbie Hughes twice going close in the early exchanges, before Penrhyncoch made the breakthrough.
Ifan Burrell took his chance well to give the Roosters’ a shock lead, but back came Prestatyn as Kai Edwards, Ben Maher and Jordan Davies were all frustrated.
The visitors pushed on again in the second half, with Hughes missing a couple of good chances before the former Connah’s Quay Nomads player teed up Davies inside the box to restore parity.
Three minutes later the visitors were in front as Rhys James unfortunately diverted into his own net to give Neil Gibson’s side the lead for the first time on the hour.
Penrhyn showed their superb character to reply on 71 minutes with a great strike from Steff Davies that flew past visiting keeper Ryan Woods into the net - and it looked like the points would be shared.
There was still more to come in injury time, however, as Gittins made the most of the space afforded to him for a dramatic winner four minutes into added time.
Only their second league defeat of the season saw Prestatyn’s lead at the top reduced to four points, with Flint Town United winning 1-0 at Gresford Athletic, thanks to Brandon Burrows’ decider.
Porthmadog upset the form book with a 2-1 win at Colwyn Bay, who had been victorious in their previous five fixtures. Mitch Bryant put the Seagulls in front, but Iddon Price and Ilan ap Gareth hit back.
Jamie Roberts and Matthew Jones were on target as Llangefni Town won 2-1 in their match away at Corwen, after Harry Pooler had struck first for the hosts.
A brace by Iwan Matthews and a Khyam Wyton penalty ensured that Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant ran out 3-2 winners at Llanfair United, with Alun Hughes and Ben Jones netting for the home team.
Connor Littler netted twice and Aron Williams once as Buckley claimed a 3-2 win over Conwy Borough at Y Morfa, after Craig Whelan and Corrig McGonigle had put the hosts 2-1 up at the interval.
First half goals from Emmanuel Agyemang and Simone Rea earned Bangor City a 2-1 win at Rhyl, who had equalised at one stage through Sam Molyneux.
• The JD Cymru North’s Manager of the Month for October has been awarded to Craig Hogg, of Colwyn Bay FC.
In their five league fixtures, Hogg’s charges picked up five victories, as they began to show some impressive form in their maiden season in the second tier.
The Player of the Month went to Flint Town United’s Mark Cadwallader, after scoring in all three of his side’s games, against Prestatyn Town, Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant and Ruthin Town.
