PENRHYNDEUDRAETH have begun their search for a new manager after it was announced that Richard Davies and Andrew Jones had decided to step down.
The duo, who steered the side to glory in this season’s Mawddach Challenge Cup, stepped down after the last game of the season against Glantraeth last Thursday.
“It is with great reluctance that we announce the management team of Richard Davies (Fish) and Andrew Jones (Junior) have decided to step down from their roles,” said a club statement.
“The club would like to wish them both all the best for the future and thank them for all their hard work and dedication.”
Manager Jones had initially joined the Club as a player in 2009, but he then became assistant manager to Gareth Piercy towards the end of the 2009/10 season.
He continued in the role until he took over as manager for the 2011/12 season.
His honours as assistant manager included the Caernarfon and District League runners-up, Kon-X Wales Cup winners and Moorings Cup winners for 2010/11.
His many honours as manager include Gwynedd League Champions, Gwynedd Safeflue Shield winners and Bob Owen Memorial Shield winners in 2011/12; Take Stock Van Hire Cup winners and Mawddach Challenge Cup finalists in 2012/13; Welsh Alliance Division Two Champions,Take Stock Van Hire Cup finalists, FAW Trophy semi-finalists in 2013/14; FAW Trophy finalists in 2014/15; and Mawddach Cup in 2015/16.
He also won six Welsh Alliance Manager of the Month awards and he was also named as the Welsh Alliance Division Two Manager of the Year’ in 2013/14.
Assistant manager Andrew Jones joined in March 2011 from Barmouth and Dyffryn United and made a total of 46 appearances. He joined the management team for the 2013/14 season.
Following their decision to step down, CPD Penrhyndeudraeth is now actively seeking a new manager.
“The Club would like to appoint a new manager or management team as soon as possible,” said a statement.“Previous experience of managing or coaching at Welsh Alliance level, or higher, would be an advantage, although not essential."

Meanwhile two goals from Meilir Williams on 52 and 87 minutes, and singles by Iwan Lane on 5 and Steve Jones on 38 sealed a 4-2 victory for Penrhyn in their last game of the season against Glantraeth, who had replied through Neil Hughes on 53 and Matthew Lock on 71.
The result meant they finished the season in sixth position in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one.
