Ffostrasol were unable to repeat their superb semi-final win over Llandysul in the semi-final of the Dai ‘Dynamo’ Davies Cup in midweek, as they went down to Dewi Stars in a 4-3 thriller.

Youngster Adam Jones struck a powerful drive passed the helpless Rhodri Edwards to open the scoring, but Stars equalised as Ifan Thomas was bundled over in the box, and brother and captain Gethin Thomas netted the penalty.

Ifan Thomas turned provider five minutes later as his deep cross was met by William Williams who powered his header to the top corner of the net.

Back came Ffostrasol before the interval, as Dafydd Morgan equalise with a crisp shot to make it 2-2 at the break and on the hour Gethin Davies struck an excellent 35 yard free kick that totally deceived Rhodri Edwards for 3-2.

Minutes later Ifan Thomas capitalised on a defensive slip to turn and hit a low drive to make it all square again, and with less than 10 minutes left William Williams was first to react to a loose ball in the box to secure the points for Stars.

Despite banking maximum points Stars have now completed their league fixtures and are set to be relegated.
