A TALENTED footballer from Aberystwyth has taken the next steps of a promising professional career by joining Championship side Stoke City.
Left back Rhys Norrington-Davies has signed for the play-off chasing Potters, who are currently eighth in the standings, for the remainder of the season.
The former Ysgol Penglais pupil had been on loan at Luton Town from parent club Sheffield United, the Premier League side having recently extended his contract until 2014.
During his loan spell at Kennilworth Road, he made 22 appearances during a four-month spell under Welshman Nathan Jones.
The 21-year-old, who made his full senior international debut last year, is now the seventh Welshman on Stoke’s books, joining his fellow countryman Rabbi Matondo (FC Schalke) in checking-in at the club on loan this window.
The others are Adam Davies, James Chester, Joe Allen, Morgan Fox and Sam Vokes.
Manager Michael O’Neill said: “We are pleased to bring in another young player who is hungry to develop and improve.
“Rhys is a player we have been aware of for some time and I’m sure he will be a key addition to our defensive resources for the remainder of the season.”
Norrington-Davies played youth football for Swansea before joining Sheffield United’s Academy in 2017.
