ST DOGMAELS moved four points clear at the top of the Costcutter Ceredigion League division one table as they defeated their closest rivals Newcastle Emlyn 2-0 last weekend.

Owen Williams had opened their account when he steered home a pin-point cross from Josh Mellor to open the scoring on the quarter of an hour mark, and this lead was doubled when Peter Almond headed home a cross from Adam Williams.

Cardigan Town coasted to a convincing 5-2 win at Aberporth, having been 3-0 up at the break, despite Steff Davies missing a penalty. Player-manager James Evans, Liam Doherty and John Curran found the net, before second half goals by Davies and Doherty sealed the points. The Airmen had replied with goals from Aaron Eldridge and Jac Levine.

Two goals by Felinfach hot shot Rhys Jon James helped to steer Felinfach to a 3-1 home win over Llandysul.

Experienced front runner Kieron Boyes was also on target, whilst for Llandysul, midfielder Lewis Jones grabbed a consolation goal.

There was also a very welcome win for Crannog who edged out Lampeter with a single George Colven goal.

Dewi Stars meanwhile notched a 2-1 win at Ffostrasol, with winning goals from Daniel Jones and Siencyn Jones, whilst Caleb Rees netted for the home outfit.

In division two, leaders Maesglas ran out convincing winners over Aberaeron Reserves by 3-0, with league top scorer Rhodri George, Tom Gardiner and John Midgley netting their goals.

Crannog Reserves picked up their first point with a 1-1 draw against Bargod. Jake Shakespeare was on target for the hosts, whilst Robbie Jenkins netted for Rangers.

St Dogmaels Reserves beat their Lampeter counterparts 3-2 after overcoming a two-goal deficit, with goals from Osian Thomas, who netted a brace, and Jack Thomas.

Felinfach could only muster 10 players for their trip to Maes Radley, and were reduced to just nine men in the second half, but they still managed to give Maesglas a few problems before the hosts sealed a 3-2 home win.

Two goals from Chris Jones and one from Mike Painting helped pave the way to victory, but Dan White and Leon Pane reduced the deficit to set up a nervy conclusion.
