ABERYSTWYTH Town are looking to make a positive response to missing out on a top six position when they return to action at home to Port Talbot Town on Friday night (ko 7.45pm).
The Seasiders must now focus on finishing seventh in the Welsh Premier League to gain entry into the play-offs for Europe - and are three points adrift of Bangor City and two behind Carmarthen.
A defeat to the Steelmen on Friday could even see them drop into a bottom three position - and after four successive defeats at Park Avenue they need to make an immediate response.
"Obviously the boys were disappointed with how things turned out, and hopefully we can start to change things around," said Interim manager Wyn Thomas.
"However, all our talking needs to be done on the field from now on."
The Seasiders will be without the influential Chris Venables and Luke Sherbon, after both were sent off in the defeat to Newtown a fortnight ago.
They will wait on the fitness of both Ross Stephens and Geoff Kellaway after their recent injuries.
Meanwhile Andy Dyer’s side are 10th in the table, but fresh off the back of a last-gasp 2-2 draw with top six side Airbus UK Broughton.
They have also strengthened by signing striker Marley Bishop from Bristol City.
The 19-year-old has been a regular face in the Football League Championship outfit’s under-21 squad, and may be eligible to make his debut - depending on international clearance.
Winger Kerry Morgan has also rejoined the club from Merthyr Town, and is expected to come straight into the squad.
Jonathan Hood, however, will miss the fixture, with the forward serving his first match of a three-match ban following a red card against Airbus.
Aber were beaten 4-2 by Port Talbot at the Genquip Stadium in September, and lost 3-1 in the home return just three weeks ago.
The previous six encounters at Park Avenue has seen Port Talbot win four, with one draw and one Aberystwyth win.
Kick off on Friday is at 7.45pm and admission will cost £6 for Adults, £4 Concessions and £1 for Children.
