ABERYSTWTH Town FC signed six new players in the last week of the transfer window, with experienced Welsh Premier League striker Marc Williams joining the club from Bangor City.

Williams has had spells with Conference sides Wrexham, Chester, Northwich Victoria and Kidderminster Harriers, and was capped for Wales at U17, U19, U21 and semi-professional level.

“Aber’s fans will most recently remember Marc for his spells with Llandudno and Cymru Alliance outfit Bangor City,” said a club spokesmen. “Known for his prolific goal scoring record, the front man made 86 appearances for Wrexham between 2005 and 2011, scoring 17 goals in the process.

“He scored 14 goals in 60 games for Conference North side Chester City between 2011 and 2014, and more recently netted 25 goals in 76 games for Llandudno in the JD Welsh Premier, guiding them to a Europa League qualification tie in 2016/17.”

Adam Walters, Harry Cottam, Carwyn Jones, Jamie McDaid and Bradley Johnson also put pen to paper with Aber on deadline day.

Goalkeeper Adam Walters re-joins the club after spending the majority of last season in the playing squad.

He hails from York, and had spells at Aberystwyth University and more Barmouth and Dyffryn United.

Carwyn Jones joins the club from local Cymru Alliance outfit Penrhyncoch, and he originally hails from Bangor and he can play either as a full back or a winger.

Harry Cottam joins the club from Carno, and the Harlech man has spent time playing for Bari Morgan’s Under 19s side and more recently gained senior experience playing with Carno in the Spar Mid Wales League.

Jamie McDaid is a pacey right winger who joins from Holyhead Hotspur, having previously spent time at Holywell Town and Bangor.

He has experience of playing in the Welsh Premier with the Citizens, and has a wealth of Cymru Alliance playing time under his belt.

Bradley Johnson also joins the club, pending international clearance, after spending time playing in New Zealand, but he also spent time playing with Manchester City as a youngster.

The club also confirmed the release of winger Nashawn Blake, and would like to thank him for his services.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish all the new signings a warm welcome to Park Avenue and will look forward to seeing them on the field for the Seasiders,” said a spokesman.
