ABERYSTWYTH Town produced another very spirited performance as they fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Prestatyn at Bastion Gardens, for their second win on their travels.
Michael Parker put the home side in front after eight minutes when he seized on a rebound to score - but goals from John Owen and Declan Walker in four second-half minutes won it for Nev Powell’s side.
In wet conditions, the wind-assisted visitors had started well, and Luke Borrelli sent an effort wide, before Walker’s great ball in was headed clear for a corner - and a looping header from the same player dropped just over the crossbar.
Prestatyn, however, suddenly took the lead as Jack Kenny’s shot was parried by keeper Chris Mullock, and the unmarked Parker slotted home on his 200th appearance.
Aber kept coming and Owen glanced a Mathew Jones cross wide, and after some more pressure back came the hosts, with Kenny bringing another low save from Mullock.
Craig Hobson, on his return to the staring line-up in place of the suspended Jonny Spittle, worked hard up front and chances kept coming.
Hobson himself had a header scooped off the line by Carl Jones, before livewire Ryan Wade curled a goalbound shot towards the far corner, only to see it headed clear.
Jones also had a low effort saved, and then James Stead almost sliced a clearance into his own net, as the hosts held on to their slender lead.
After such dominance the second half looked like being a harder challenge for the visitors against the wind, and indeed Parker could and should have finished the game off after a one two with Ban Maher, but he scooped his shot just over.
Aber however started playing the ball on the floor and this almost brought instant results as Wade linked up with Malcolm Melvin to produce a great save from Jones.
Zyaac Edwards’ shot was parried to safety by Mullock, and Reece Fairhurst and Stead both missed chances to double the hosts’ lead.
Wade, however, was beginning to pull the strings for the visitors, shooting wide and bringing another punched clearance from Jones.
Then, just as at Llandudno two weeks before, Aberystwyth hit back to turn a possible defeat into a win.
Wade was again involved before Ashley Young’s shot was parried for Owen to pounce at the far post to score his first goal of the season.
Three minutes later Melvin won a corner, from which Wade crossed for Young to pounce again at the far post for a near replica of his goal against TNS the previous week, and his third goal in three games.
With Prestatyn looking demoralised Aber looked the more likely to score again, whilst their defence held firm against some quick breaks to notch a second league victory.
