BORTH United’s promotion into the Spar Mid Wales League division one has been endorsed at the latest meeting of the FAW Council.

It was confirmed that division one will run with a full complement of 16 clubs next season, with champions Rhayader Town stepping up to the Cymru Alliance, to be replaced by relegated Llanfair United.

Hay St Mary’s have chosen to step down to division two, where they will have less distance to travel, whilst Montgomery Town have also been relegated, after finishing bottom last season.

Due to there only being 15 clubs in division one last season Borth, who finished third in division two, were offered the chance of promotion, along with division two runners-up Churchstoke and champions Kerry.

The Spar Mid Wales division one’s composition will be Llanfair United, Carno, Berriew, Llanrhaeadr, Aberaeron, Bow Street, Llanidloes Town, Knighton, Tywyn Bryncrug, Llandrindod Wells, Radnor Valley, Borth United, Machynlleth, Welshpool, Kerry and Churchstoke.

Four Crosses have dropped out of division two, but Talgarth Town and Brecon Northcote will now step up from the Mid Wales League (South), taking its membership to 13 clubs next term.

The Spar Mid Wales division two’s composition will be Montgomery Town, Hay St Marys, Dolgellau Athletic, Newbridge, Aberystwyth University, Dyffryn Banw, Builth Wells, Abermule, Llansantffraid Village, Presteigne, Penybont, Talgarth Town and Brecon Northcote.

An application from Trewern to join from the Montgomeryshire Amateur division two was rejected by the FAW due to the club playing two leagues below last season.Read the full report, and the latest transfer news, in this week's Aberystwyth edition and see links below:
