ANTHONY Stephens has become the final transfer deadline day signing for Welsh Premier League side Bala Town.
Stephens spent three years with the Lakesiders, making 77 starts and scoring seven goals - before making the move to Bangor City last June.
"He is a versatile midfielder, who was given the captain’s armband at Nantporth, starting nine games in total," said a club spokesperson. "Bouncing back from his lengthy ACL injury and fractured jaw, we are delighted to see Anthony back with the Lakesiders."
Also returning to Maes Tegid is 30 year-old centre half Shaun Kelly.
Previously with the Lakesiders back in 2010/11, Kelly started out at Chester City in 2007 before a move to Burton Albion two years later.
"His spell at Maes Tegid was only a season long due to Shaun relocating to Australia where he has represented South Melbourne and Dandenong City, earning himself Player of the Year, being named club captain and finishing runner-up in the league," said a clubs spokesperson.
"Shaun faced a spell on the sidelines as he broke his foot back in 2014 whilst overseas. The commanding defender is strong on the ball and will be a huge boost to the Lakesiders’ backline.
Josh Williams had become Bala’s second addition of the January transfer window, when he joined from Quarry Bank.
Williams is a centre forward and has previous experience of Welsh football when he appeared for Rhyl in 2013/14. He has also played for Ashton United.
Bala have also captured the signature of 21 year-old goalkeeper Keighan Jones, who joins from Cymru Alliance side Conwy Borough.
Jones started with Airbus and has represented the Wales U18’s Academy squad.
He had spells at Denbigh Town, Caernarfon and Llandudno Junction, before a move to Conwy over the summer where he made 16 starts at The Morfa.
Following snowy weather conditions, the Lakesiders had no choice but to postpone last Thursday’s game versus The New Saints, following a pitch inspection. It has been re-arranged for Friday, 15 March with a 7.45pm kick-off.Bala's game away fixture at Connah’s Quay on 19 February has also been moved to Tuesday, 26 February, also with a 7.45pm kick-off.Meanwhile the draw for the JD Welsh Cup Quarter Final will see Bala Town at home against Cardiff Met, after their 4-0 fourth round win at Haverfordwest County.
Ties are due to be played on the weekend of 2/3 March.
