BOW STREET Reserves kept up their pressure on early pacesetters Bont as they recorded their second win in a week in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League, courtesy of a 2-0 win against Padarn United.

Goals from Gethin ap Dafydd and Gerwyn Evans were enough to secure the points as the Magpies made it four wins from five in division one.

Bont, who have played a game more, maintained their four-point lead at the top as two goals from Aberystwyth Town legend Glyndwr Hughes capped a 3-1 win over visitors Llanilar. Andrew Gilbert also netted, whilst Guto Roberts replied.

Tregaron Turfs were the top scorers of the day as they emphatically returned to winning ways with a 7-0 win against Machynlleth Reserves.

Rhun Garner scored twice for the Turfs, along with goals from Dylan Davies, Carwyn Earey, Llyr Davies and two own goals by the visitors.

Connor Murphy scored twice as Talybont picked up their third win of the season with a 3-2 win over Borth Reserves. Callum Pritchard also netted for the hosts, while Borth replied through Scott Wilson and Ben Byrne.

Talybont Reserves made a flying start in division two as they hammered Llanon 14-0. Gruff Jones and Anthony Vasquez both scored four goals, and Chris Wylde, Jamie Surgey and Darren Thomas all scored twice.

Two goals by Will Kendall earned Aberdyfi Reserves a 2-2 draw with Padarn Reserves, who scored through Paul Vaughan and Adrian Sutton.

• In midweek, Bont had eased to a comfortably 6-1 home win over Penrhyncoch Reserves, courtesy of two goals from Dion Davies and singles by William Davey, Dewi Siôn Evans, Andrew Carree and Andrew Gilbert.

Matt Lewis replied for the Roosters, who slipped to a third straight defeat.

Iolo ap Dafydd continued his goal-scoring form by netting two more goals as Bow Street Reserves registered a 4-1 win at Borth Reserves to keep up their pressure on the leaders.

Further goals from Nicholas Smith and Osian Burrell, who netted from the penalty spot, sealed the win, whilst Tristan Jenkins replied with a fine strike, for his first senior goal.

Padarn United beat Tregaron Turfs 3-2, with some excellent strikes from Christopher Foster and Paul James, with a brace, whilst Rhun Garner and Carwyn Earey netted replies in a match that produced three red cards.

Talybont beat Llanilar 5-3, courtesy of goals by Dylan Hughes, Chris Wylde, Connor Murphy, Callum Pritchard and Robbie Southgate, whilst the visitors netted through Dewi Evans, with a brace, and Peter Bradley.

Machynlleth Reserves lost 4-3 in their midweek derby at Aberdyfi.
