BOW STREET Reserves moved up to third position in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League as they hit back to register a 4-1 win over a Llanilar side that has struggled to find any consistency all season.

The homesters, who have been unable to put out the same side in any two consecutive games this season, had performed exceptionally well to be ahead at the half time interval.

They opened the scoring when young Jack Lawton went on a mazy run from his own half, and on reaching the penalty box, he was upended. Ryan Hopkins stepped up to confidently convert the spot kick.

Street stepped things up at the start of the second half, but Llanilar kept things tight until the visitors took charge with four goals in the last half an hour of the game to seal victory.

Two goals from Tom Williams and singles by Guto Havard and Dan Hopton earned the Magpies victory.

Borth United Reserves maintained their form as they made it two wins in a week by following up a 2-1 win at Padarn United with a 3-0 win at Machynlleth Reserves at the weekend.

A superb goal by Marcin Matyja, and a cool finish from Jamie Walker sealed their excellent midweek win at Padarn, with Dean Davies replying.

Goals from James Davies and Robyn Makaruk, with a brace, sealed Borth’s 3-0 away win against Machynlleth to move them up into fourth position.

Padarn United meanwhile bounced back from their midweek defeat with a 5-1 win over Aberdyfi on Saturday, courtesy of a brace from Dean Davies and single goals from Richard Williams, Ian Lee and Paul Griffiths.

Talybont, who beat Penrhyncoch Reserves 3-1 in midweek, with two goals by Callum Pritchard and a Paul Keegan effort, saw their match against Penparcau postponed last weekend.

Dolgellau took their chance to six points clear at the top as they breezed to a 7-1 win over Tregaron Turfs.

A Dominic Thomas brace and singles by David Edwards, Joe Ephraim, Kieran Jones, Mike Parkes and Ryan Thomas completed an emphatic win.

In the only game played in division two, Aberdyfi Reserves shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw against Llanon.

Dylan Williams and Denny Parry netted for the Meirionnydd side, but Llanon took a point with goals by Liam Craine and Simon Lovatt.
