AFTER bolstering their attacking options with the signing of Aberystwyth legend Geoff Kellaway, the Roosters have strengthened at the back with the addition of ex-professional defender Tihomir Trifonov from Bulgarian side FC Sevlievo.
The a 6ft 3in centre-back, nicknamed ’Hero’ by former team-mates, has played mainly in his native Bulgaria but has also had spells in Moldova.
He started his footballing career with Dunav Ruse in 2005 before leaving in 2007 to join Lokomotiv Mezdra.
He then joined FC Montana, the side in which he spent the most time at, playing 80 times in two years before leaving in 2012 to join Etar 1923. Spells followed at Chernomorets Burgas, Bulgarian top flight side Lokomotiv, Etar Veliko Tarnovo, FC Haskovo, Neftochmic, Zaria Balti, FC Sevlievo, and Lokomotiv Gorna.
Tihomir said: “I like the club due to not having to train 3-4 times a week, and I feel great!
“There are very good people, very good coaches, a perfect atmosphere and a team of good players. Everything is good.”
Assistant manager Sion James said: “Hero has come to live in Aberystwyth and it looks like we have found a gem of a player.
"He’s played in the Bulgarian top flight and has impressed us from his first session with us!”
