TREGARON Turfs took their chance to move ahead of local rivals Bont on goal difference in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one as they notched a 2-1 win over Aberystwyth University Reserves.

Goals from Nigel Jones and Llyr Davies made it six wins from seven games for Tregaron, while Gytis Pivnickas had found the net for the students.

Padarn United bounced back from a disappointing defeat to Bont to record an impressive 3-0 win against Talybont.

Matt Higgs opened the scoring when he followed up a rebound after a good stop by Talybont’s keeper to slot home.
