TREGARON Turfs maintained their winning record at the top of the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one with an emphatic 8-1 win over Talybont last weekend.
Cledan Davies, who had scored a hat-trick the previous week against Penrhyncoch Reserves, led the way again with four goals as the free-scoring Turfs made it six wins from six games this season.
Within three minutes Daniel Owen linked up with Ifan Jones, whose cross found Cledan Davies to tap home, and soon after the keeper couldn’t handle a rasping long range effort by Rhun Garner, and Davies tapped in a second goal.
Within a minute, Carwyn Earey received a long ball, controlled well and lobbed the keeper from 25 yards out, but Talybont responded after half an hour as Sol Kilami fired home from 20 yards out.
It was 4-1 just before half-time as Cledan Davies, switching from left to right, received the ball, cut inside and fired low and hard from 20 yards out, to complete his second hat-trick as many weeks.
Carwyn Earey then scored his second goal five minutes into the second half from a corner, and Garner nudged the ball home a minute later to make it 6-1.
Garner pushed the ball through to captain and man of the match Ifan Jones for a well deserved goal, and Cledan Davies had the final say with his fourth, after a neat through ball from Oli Langford.
Aberdyfi notched their second win with a 3-1 home win over Bont, with goals from George Richards, Liam Fox and Tim Holt, with a superb long range free kick. Aled Parry netted for winless Bont, who got back into it before half-time.
Llanilar notched their third win from four matches as Tom Constantine and Ryan Hopkins both scored twice, along with a Rhydian ap Owen goal in their solid 5-0 win over Penrhyncoch Reserves.
Dolgellau Reserves made it back-to-back wins in division two as Rhys Jones, Jasper Jones and Charlie Owen secured a 3-0 win over Penparcau Reserves, whilst Paul James netted the winner as Padarn Reserves got off the mark with a 1-0 win over Borth Reserves.Dylan Evans, Carl Thomas and Siôn James Gittins hit the net as Llanilar Reserves notched a 3-3 draw away at division two newcomers Corris United, who scored through Alex Roberts and Owain Kelly, with a brace.
Llanon have meanwhile followed Penrhyncoch Thirds in dropping out of the league before starting their season, due to a lack of players committing to the club.
