TREGARON Turfs remained hot on the heels of Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one leaders Penparcau as they battled to secure a 3-2 win against Talybont.

Llyr Davies, Ifan Jones and Cerith Davies put the visitors three goals up, and despite a spirited fightback, they held firm to stay within nine points of the leaders, with two games in hand.

The home team did reduce the arrears through Bari Southgate and Osian Thomas, but it wasn’t enough as the Turfs made it seven wins from nine league matches so far this season.

Frontrunners Penparcau took their number of league wins into double figures as they registered a hard earned 3-2 win at Padarn United.

Nathan Richards scored twice and Ben Holt once, but a determined display from the hosts produced goals from Tegid Owen and Paul Keegan.

Bont, whose appeal against a three point deduction has been upheld by the Central Wales FA, moved level on points with third-placed Llanilar as they eased to an 8-0 win at home to struggling Machynlleth Reserves.

Ben Lewis led the way with a hat-trick, whilst Dion Davies and Trevor Jenkins both scored twice and Cian Thomas also got onto the scoresheet.

On Monday evening, Llewelyn Hughes had scored twice as Bont had also notched a good 4-0 away win against a youthful Penrhyncoch Reserves, with Ben Lewis and Trevor Jenkins also netting for the visitors.

Dolgellau Reserves were too strong for leaders Penrhyncoch Thirds in the Cambrian Tyres division two as they eased to an emphatic 7-0 home win.

Dominic Thomas, Ryan Thomas and Nathan Thomas all scored twice for the hosts, and Callum Tugman also got his name on the scoresheet.

The result allowed Aberdyfi the chance to move to the top of the division two table on goal difference as they took the spoils in an entertaining 5-3 away triumph against Llanon.

A Richard Winchurch brace, Sean Fox, Brandon Kent and Liam Fox found the net for Dyfi as they registered their fourth win on the bounce.

Justino Joseph scored twice and Michael Ginder once for Llanon.

Llanilar Reserves recorded their fourth league win of the season as Ryan Hopkins’ goal sealed a 1-0 win at home to Borth United Reserves.

• Ryan Edwards scored four goals as Llanilar eased into the next round of the Cwpan Coffa Dai Dynamo Davies with an emphatic 8-0 away win over Aberystwyth University Reserves.

Guto Roberts weighed in with a brace of goals, and Shon Morgans and Tom Davies also got onto the scoresheet as Llanilar breezed into the third round of the competition.
