TYWYN/BRYNCRUG Reserves and Bow Street Reserves both completed doubles within the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League this season, as they registered cup triumphs in the final week at Park Avenue.

Division two champions Tywyn/Bryncrug Reserves returned to Park Avenue to face runners-up Penparcau in the final of the Second Division Trophy last Wednesday evening, and they bounced back to seal the double.

Having completed their campaign with a perfect 10 successive wins, by beating Penparcau 8-1 seven days earlier, they had to work hard to secure their win this time around.

First half goals from Cullen Rodgers and Luke Rickard ultimately sealed a 2-1 triumph, but Penparcau produced a determined performance and they battled to the end.

Gareth Lewis hit crossbar 15 minutes into the second half, before substitute Lee Morgan scored in the last 10 minutes to set up a nervy finish for Tywyn, for whom captains John Horton and Tim Holt lifted the trophy.

Bow Street Reserves, already crowned as division one champions, had bounced back from their League Cup final defeat to Tregaron Turfs with an emphatic 7-1 win over division two champions Tywyn in the final of the Len and Julia Newman Memorial Trophy.

Ian Evans scored twice for the Magpies, with skipper Stephen Harrison, Shaun Jones, Osian Rees-Jones, Osian Burrell and Joseff Williams all also finding the net, to ensure they signed off the season with more silverware.

It sealed a fine campaign for the Bow Street club, whose first team also went on to win the Spar Mid Wales League Cup for the first time the following day.
