TYWYN/BRYNCRUG notched a welcome third win in the MMP Mid Wales League division one - and their first clean sheet of the season - with a solid 3-0 home win over basement side Llansantffraid Village.

The Meirionnydd hosts took the lead through man of the match Tom Allen-Davies, who also provided the assist for Aled Jones to double their lead, before an own goal made sure of the three points.

Leaders Llanidloes were left to rue missed chances as they lost their unbeaten league record with a 2-0 defeat at Llandrindod Wells, who produced a great defensive display to keep the Daffs out.

Michael Collister made the breakthrough with a first half header, and despite increasing Llani pressure, Kieran McCarley sealed the points with a breakaway goal in injury time, after the visitors had pushed everyone up for a corner.

Builth Wells closed the gap at the top two six points, with a game in hand, as they notched a battling 3-2 win at Aberaeron, who felt they were unfortunate to come away from the game with nothing.

Gareth Severs and Lee Perkins both netted for the Seasiders, but goals from Mark Jones, Greg Preece and Josh Price, with the winner, sealed victory.Elliot Jones scored twice as Caersws got back to winning ways with a battling 4-2 home win over fifth-placed Bow Street. Jamie Hyne and James Coleman also netted for the home side, with Ryan Evans and Llyr Davies scoring for the Magpies.

Kerry surrendered a three-goal half time lead at home against Four Crosses as the visitors hit back to secure a 3-3 draw. Max Mclaughlin, Charlie Mainwaring and the prolific Luke Mumford had put Kerry in the driving seat, but Crosses hit back through Harry Davies and a double from Jordan Gerrard to claim a point.

• In the FAW Trophy, Welshpool Town reached the last 16 after Will Thomas, with a brace, Jake Mann and an own goal sealed a 4-1 win over Cefn Mawr Rangers, who scored through Aron Blackwell.

Berriew notched a 7-0 win at Lex, with goals from Niall Thomas, Joe Haycock, Richard Davies, Xavier Matisse, with a brace, Harry Watkins and George Mitten.

Joey Price netted a hat-trick as Radnor Valley also marched on with a 4-2 win over Mold Alexandra, with Gez Lloyd also scoring, whilst Carno bowed out with a 5-2 defeat to Llandudno Albion, despite Joe Morris and Callum Jones replying.
