PWLLHELI’s proud unbeaten home record in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one ended as Llandudno Albion plundered a shock 3-0 away win.

After five straight wins on home turf, last season’s division two champions landed their first impact on 20 minutes, with a goal from Joe Carey.

Daniel Evans doubled their lead a minute from the interval, and although the hosts improved in the second half, Albion swept upfield for Harry Roberts to seal the victory with the third goal, with a minute to go.

Penrhyndeudraeth made it back-to-back away wins, as they scored twice in each half to beat Nantlle Vale 4-0, with first half goals by Jack Jones on 30 minutes and Adam Griffiths on 40.

The Griffiths strike was the pick of the bunch, as the wing-back netted from inside the area with a clinical finish, after a slick move in midfield.

Penrhyn sealed victory with another quick-fire double on 55 and 60 minutes, by Huw Quaeck and Steve Jones.

This was the team’s first clean-sheet after eight outings and the role of keeper Rob Watson was a key factor.

Barmouth and Dyffryn United let their lead slip away at St Asaph City as they fell away badly in a 5-1 defeat.

Carl Ryan’s team suffered an early blow when striker George Sutherns limped off with a recurrence of an injury sustained the previous weekend.

A corner from Barmouth’s right-wing was partially cleared out to the left, where Ieuan Brooks crossed back into the middle for Paul Lewis to net with a superb header on 43 minutes.

St Asaph countered immediately, however, and Chris Bennett equalised, before the hosts took charge through Jake Walker on 57 minutes, Declan Thomas on 65, Dean Hyland on 82 and Simon Fawcett on 85.

Conwy Borough meanwhile soared back to the Alliance summit with a 4-0 win over former champions Trearddur Bay United at their own ground.

Prolific marksman Corrig McGonigle commanded centre stage by achieving another hat-trick, timed at 6, 36 and 85 minutes, with Jamie Roberts providing the other goal on 73.

Previous league leaders Llanrwst United experienced a shock 5-4 defeat away against mid-table Greenfield.

The Deesiders sealed the win with an injury time winner by Liam Robinson, but the hosts then had an escape when keeper Danny Sampson saved a penalty kick from Mike Lundstrom.

Greenfield, who were 2-0 down at one stage in the second half, gained their other goals from Kieron Roberts, with a brace, Tom Carney and Darren Johns, while Llanrwst had scored through Lundstrom, with a brace, Steff Whitley and Luke Roberts.

Llanrug United preserved their unbeaten record with a 3-3 home draw with third-from-bottom Llandyrnog.

Liam Roberts netted on five minutes and Alan Mark Owen on 52 and 62, whereas Llandyrnog kept on a par thanks to Mark Roberts on 24 and 56 minutes and Billy Holmes on 31.

Llangefni Town beat Llanberis 4-0, with goals by Sion Pritchard on 11 minutes, Iwan Jones on 48, Craig Roberts on 60 and Gavin Sharpe on 74.
