With Sky rider Geraint Thomas’ fantastic domination and win at Le Tour fresh in thoughts, 21 riders turned out for the latest round of Ystwyth CC’s time trail series.

It was a humid and breezy round 18, the Llety Gwyn 10-mile time trial last Wednesday night.

This is regarded as the fastest 10-mile course used by the club and with only a few outings on this course remaining, riders pushed hard to get that elusive PB, course win or record.

And pro rider Gruff Lewis managed to do that, smashing the men’s record with a time of 20 minutes 35 seconds.

Second place went to young rider Joshua Tarling in 22.09, with Steffan Roberts in 23.20.

In the women’s event, an impressive ride from Helen Marshall took the win in 26.37. Second place went to Lowri Richards in 29.53, and third to Nia Peris who completed the course in 30.08.
