BALA made a superb start to their Division One West match against Caernafon as they ran in 19 points in as many minutes, before holding on to win 24-17 last weekend.
Bala’s first try was scored by Iestyn Dylan, with Owain Aled adding the extras, and good interplay and offloading saw Dylan again break clear to make it 12-0.
When the referee awarded a penalty try for a rolling maul infringement, it was 19-0, before the Cofis staged their determined second half comeback.
Tries from winger Dylan Gwyn and Ilan Davies, who hails from Bala, made it 19-10, but Bala managed to score next on a rare incursion into the Cofi 22, with Owain Aled crossing for the try and adding the extras.
The Cofis, however, continued to probe Bala’s defence, with Elis Roberts crossing and Aled Jones converting to make it 24-17, for a losing bonus point.
