CRYMYCH bounced back from a heavy defeat away at Felinfoel to beat Division One West strugglers Loughor 47-21 at Parc Lloyd Thomas.

Their overall performance was far better than the previous week, especially in defence where first up tackles were more aggressive, and they managed to stop early momentum by the visitors.

Outside half Rhys Davies opened the scoring when he danced through the Loughor midfield to cross wide out, but the visitors hit back with a try from centre Morgan Bryant, which was converted by Peter Smiriglia.

Crymych skipper Tom Powell, however, then dived over under the goal posts to put his team back in front.

The visitors came back again when scrum half Smiriglia sneaked over for a try, but further tries from Crymych full back Gethin Gibby and inside half Mathew Roebuck, all converted by Davies, gave the hosts a healthy half time lead, and a bonus point in the bag.

The Preseli men upped their tempo after the break and played some fine attacking rugby, and they were rewarded for their efforts as hard-working No 8 Guto Davies dived over for a try.

The match was then sewn up with two tries in quick succession, with the first of these a penalty try and the second of these a try from replacement Dylan Thomas, with outside half Davies adding three conversions.

Bryant added his second try late on for the visitors, but he and his team were well beaten by this stage.

Crymych turn their attentions to their Swalec Plate second round tie this weekend as they go to Division Two East side Abergavenny.
