Madam,
Along with the ‘Save Bodlondeb Group’, I attended the meeting of the scrutiny committee at Penmorfa, Aberaeron on Thursday, 19 October, where the vote to close Bodlondeb on 31 March 2018 was passed by eight for and seven against, this being the recommendation to be placed before the full council meeting.
This proved that the well-orchestrated decision to close Bodlondeb was to be implemented. So, on 27 October I wrote a personal letter to the Welsh minister for children and social care, Vaughan Gething, outlining my views on this hugely important subject.
On 11 January, some 54 days after they received it, I received a reply to my letter.
Seldom will you come across a more blatant example to stifle an important matter, by simply ignoring its existence for 54 days. It raises the queston: Is the Welsh Government seriously fit for purpose?
Yours etc,
Sydney Jones, Llwyn-yr-Eos, Penparcau, Aberystwyth.
