Aberdyfi RNLI rescued the skipper of a 21ft sea angling boat that suffered engine failure at the mouth of the Dyfi estuary.

They were called out at 9.31am on Sunday, 23 August. The boat was in a hazardous position in the middle of the bar, presenting a potential hazard to fast-powered craft navigating the area.

The crew towed the vessel into the estuary, where it could be moored out of the way of other vessels.

With permission from the assistant Harbourmaster, the casualty vessel was secured on a mooring.

The skipper was then transferred to the lifeboat and brought ashore in Aberdyfi.

At 10.45am the lifeboat was recovered, washed down and made ready for service.
