Emergency services rushed to Tanybwlch beach in the early hours of this morning following reports that a man had fallen 30 feet onto rocks.

Coastguard, police, fire and ambulance crews were sent to the beach south of Aberystwyth at 1.47am on Tuesday, 25 August.

HM Coastguard Borth said: "The team were called alongside HM Coastguard Aberystwyth in a joint emergency response.

"A person had fallen around 30 feet onto the rocks by Tanybwlch.

"Paramedics were able to access him to provide initial treatment but needed our capability as rope rescue teams to safely recover them from the rocks below up to the awaiting ambulance.

"We all wish him well and offer him a speedy recovery.

"Four of our newest recruits across the two teams now have had their first real rope rescue experience and joint emergency response call-out.

"It is very different to a training session but they all played their part in enabling a safe and effective recovery."
