THE owner of an Aberporth social club has spoken of his anger and frustration after burglars made off with a fully-loaded till just hours after a successful concert was held on the premises.
Revellers packed into Aberporth Sports and Social Club for a Welsh concert but hours later, Chris Jones, who runs the club with his mother Lynnest, found that the till was missing along with a “significant” amount of cash.
The empty till was later found discarded in a field at Felinwynt almost two miles away from the scene of the crime.
Mr Jones, 38, who later drove up to where the till was recovered, described to the Cambrian News what he found.
“There were receipts scattered in the hedge, the till roll was flapping in the wind and bits and pieces lying all over the field,” he said.
“The till was part of the fabric of the place so to see it just tossed away in a field like that was just so sad – how could people show so little respect and regard for other people’s property?
“We feel we have been violated – this really feels like a personal attack. What makes it even worse is that this was the only night we’ve ever left cash in there overnight.”
