POLICE are appealing for information after a van driver died following a collision on the A487 on Monday.

The driver of a van died following a collision with a lorry in Pentregat between Brynhoffnant and Plwmp on Monday, 8 June at around 4.40pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the driver of the van died at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours as emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said today (Tuesday): “Police are investigating a fatal collision between a van and a lorry in Ceredigion.

“The incident occurred on the A487 Tanygroes to Synod Inn road at the Pentregat crossroads at around 4.40pm on Monday, 8 June.

“Colleagues from the ambulance service and Wales Air Ambulance also attended, but tragically, the driver of the van – a 38-year-old man – died at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this time, and specialist support has been made available.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, who has not already spoken with police, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police.”
