A BABY girl and a woman have died following a collision on the A487 near Gellilydan on Thursday morning.

The six-month-old was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool by the Air Ambulance but she died yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A487 shortly before 11:20am where a lorry and a Ford Fiesta had collided.

The front seat passenger of the Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was airlifted to hospital in Stoke where her condition is described as critical.

The next of kin are being supported by a specially-trained Family Liaison Officer.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from the Roads Policing Unit said: “Tragically this is now double fatal collision investigation and we would like to extend our sympathy to all the families involved.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses and anybody who can assist our investigation is asked to contact us.”

North Wales Police are not yet in a position to release further details.
