A lost walker has been taken to hospital after a rock fell on their head.

Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team was called at 9pm on 31 August to help two walkers who lost the path on their way down Cadair Idris.

While climbing over a wall, a rock fell, hitting one on them on the head.

Rescuers searched along likely paths and could eventually hear shouts for help. The location was incredibly challenging navigating fallen trees, uneven ground, and all under bracken over head height.

The injured party was treated for the head injury and potential C-spine, loaded onto a stretcher and carried to an ambulance. Everyone was safely off the hill by 4am.

“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery,” a rescue team spokesperson said.
