CHILDREN’S playgrounds in Aberystwyth will all fully reopen from tomorrow, Tuesday, the town council has decided.
Playgrounds in the town have been closed for much of the pandemic, despite guidance from the Welsh Government that outdoor play areas for children should remain open.
At a meeting tonight (Monday), town councillors heard that the most recent decision to severely limit the opening times of two popular playgrounds had left some residents “baffled” and “painted the council in a bad light”.
Since after Easter, Plascrug and Castle playgrounds had only been open from 10am to 2pm during the week. And at the weekend, Plascrug was open but Castle park was shut completely.
