AN ABERAERON man has raised £471 for the charity for which he is volunteering in Africa next month.

Gavin Thomas, 23, seen above, raised the money by bag-packing at Costcutter’s, Aberaeron, ahead of his trip out to Tanzania where he will spend three months undertaking work for Raleigh International.

“I would like to thank Costcutter and the customers and people of Aberaeron for being so generous,” he said. “Everyone has been unbelievably generous.”

Gavin’s next fund-raising scheme will be a 70-mile cycle ride from his home town of Treorchy to Aberaeron this month.
