HORSE rider Alice Bacon, of Llandysul, had a bad riding accident in September 2013.
She had to be airlifted by the Wales Air Ambulance to Morriston Hospital, Swansea, where she was treated in the intensive care unit and had a lengthy stay in hospital due to a severely lacerated liver.
To thank the Wales Air Ambulance, Alice has now decided to organise and take part in a 66-mile walk along the Ceredigion coastal path this May in four days.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge - and a challenge it will be,” she said.
“We have set a target of £1,000, so hopefully we can raise it by May when the walk takes place.
“I’m not looking forward to the first day of the walk as we are walking north to south on the path and it is the hardest part.”
The walk will start in Ynyslas and finish in Cardigan, with occasional detours to collect donations.
“We have allowed ourselves four days to complete this challenge, however we are hoping to complete it in a shorter amount of time,” said Alice who will be joined by friends Sue Lloyd, Emma Lloyd and Ashley Taylor.
